Test Drive for September 2013 Apps

Welcome to our first Test Drive for

high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Well, at least one ship passing by isn't a figment of Jack's imagination, and lucky for him, Kurt's crew had a reputation of picking up stranded or shipwrecked people.

The nutty captain, then, is causing quite a stir as a few yell out to him to try to figure out exactly what's going on. After a short time, there's a rowboat trying to come up to the raft, with the currently-furred captain on board and holding his hands up disarmingly.]

Are you... er, all there?

_{[ Jack finds this whole ship business to be quite rude. On the one hand, there's a possibility of being rescued - on the other, there's a chance that this is nothing more than a mirage. and judging by the fact that there happens to be some sort of beastie using perfect English in his general direction, he's going to assume that this is about as real as his moral code is.

Pushing himself up with very great effort, he smiles at the... well, the ... captain and vaguely gestures towards his other self. ... Which is mostly known as being nothing more than air, if anyone else happens to be looking where he is. ]}

Of course I'm all there. I'm the perfect image of being entirely there. You won't find a finer person to be anywhere else, and being right there and here happens to be a speciality I've only just managed to perfect.

_{[ Yes. His other self is beaming too - or at least he was at the introduction. He's making quite the face as he stares at the captain before him, though he's quite keen on that rowboat. ]}

[The whole reason Kurt tends to approach things in worgen form lately is because the last few "shipwrecked" tried to mug him and take his ship. As funny as it is to see the terror on their face when he changes, he's gotten a bit tired of it.

As it is, he raises an eyebrow at Jack, making a thoughtful noise. Some of the crew on the rowboat are snickering.]

I see. Well, then, being such a fine person, I'd say you deserve a free meal. Why don't you come with us?

_{[ The thing is, if Jack's approached by anything that isn't human, he tends to be somewhat on edge. It most likely stems from that one time he was eaten by the kracken. No hard feelings, mate, he's just not into it.

Which is very obvious, given the way he scoops up the last remaining bottles of his rum supply and hugs them tightly towards his chest. ]}

But why's it free?

Because you're out here, delirious, and almost out of alcohol. It would be a shame for a pirate to not have rum to drink, wouldn't it?

[He'll let the wolf form fizzle away back into his human one. Is this a bit better?]

Besides, you clearly could use a better... lift than this.

_{[ Well, he did make a good point about the alcohol beginning to run out. And it would probably be best if he did get some sort of mea- ... did he just... melt into a human being? Jack may have had his fair share of unknown substances, and hell, he may have seen some downright insane things in his time, but he's never seen a wolf turn into a man.

Slowly, he looks down at his bottle of rum and wrinkles his nose. ]}

Let's say I do go with you, eh? What then? You feed me, give me more rum. What do I need to do in return for your kind services?

[Okay, maybe that wasn't the best idea to do. He's still new at being a pirate captain thing, okay.

As it is, he waves his hand a little.]

Just help out on the ship until we get to port, then you're free to go.

_{[ WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING he's really not happy about any of this. ]}

... but why?

_{[ WHY ]}

You get a free meal and alcohol, which we have plenty of, and we get a short bit of labor in return, which we can always use.

Isn't that a good deal?
