Test Drive for June 2014 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for [community profile] high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

See you during the application round!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

We don't really have a cook. We mostly cook for ourselves.

Then who among you is the best?
raavashing: (Action: We'll see that we need them)

Well, we don't actually cook for each other, so I don't really know?
the_blond_black: (stay over there)

[She was not cooking for herself, if that's what he was implying.]

Then you can ask everyone until you get an answer. Tell me I didn't arrive on a ship where no one can cook properly.

I'm not going to ask everyone. If you want someone else to cook for you, you should ask them yourself.

[He'd been willing to do some cooking, but he knew his limits. If she didn't like that, she could ask someone else on her own.]

[She glared at him. He was not backing down, was he? She was about to get up and find someone more suitable for the task, since this one obviously failed at it, but her stomach gave a sharp pain. Okay, so she hadn't really eaten for a few days. The lack of house-elves and the fact that she didn't know the first thing about cooking sort of prevented her from it. Not to mention that she still didn't quite trust these people she had to live on the ship with.

She sighed. It wasn't often she had to give in to the inferior, but... she didn't really have a choice right then. Not if she wanted to finally eat something before the pain got worse. Why couldn't there be house-elves here?]

Very well, do it your way. Though to improve your skill, you really should ask someone.

[Also, she wasn't going anywhere. She had to make sure he wasn't going to burn her food.]

[Wan frowned, but went to the food storage (the fridge), pulled out the meat (couldn't find koalalamb or lamb of any kind, settled for chicken), pulled out the veggies, then went to find skewers. Knives were close enough by that he could cut the pieces within her line of sight. Each one was about an inch cubed, then slid down the long wooden dowels.

Once that was all finished and Wan had washed his hands, he placed the skewers over the open grill top that sat above the stove. He didn't turn the stove on, of course, because he could create his own fire and regulating that temperature was a lot easier than working with the stove.

She wanted her food roasted? Well, it was definitely getting licked by the flames now.]

[Narcissa never really saw raw meat, so she wasn't sure what kind he pulled out. She made a disgusted face at its look, however. It didn't look as red as the inside of the lamb, so it probably wasn't lamb. She frowned in displeasure, but didn't say anything. She really did want to eat and didn't want to cook for herself, so she let it slide.

Just this once.

She jumped slightly when fire suddenly came from his bare hands and gasped in shock. She was glad he was facing away from her because she was able to quickly compose herself. She was sure she was the only witch on this ship. Yet this guy cast a wordless, wandless fire spell with good control over it?

She kept her sudden curiosity hidden. Instead, she spoke in her usual tone.]

Make sure not to burn it.
