Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[Narcissa's gaze move from the person pressed against the wall with her wand to the person who spoke. At least, he looked like a person if it weren't for the fact that he was completely devoid of any color.]

Mess up on a spell or potion? Or were you just hexed?

[Because even though it looked like most of the worthless people she came across so far were muggles, someone had to put up the barrier to prevent her from apparating off the island. She couldn't be the only witch here. Which meant that this newest person was either the culprit (though one with such an ineptitude of magic could hardly be the one to kidnap and keep her here) or someone who had a spell cast on them. Still, in case of the former, she didn't take her glare off him.]

That depends on who you want to help, but I don't see the reason why you can't prove to be more useful than this worthless being.

[He tilts his head in thought, weighing options.]

I have got this nasty CURSE on me... [Maybe she knew how to remove the seal!]

And why, YOU of course! That person you've got pinned doesn't look to be having much fun.

Then perhaps you should see a Healer.

[There was no hint of concern in her voice. What did she care if he was cursed or not, other than it meant there was a wizard somewhere around here.]

The only way you could help me is to tell me what this person is failing to.

Healer? Maybe... No, it's probably not that simple.

[If the lack of concern bothers him, he certainly doesn't show it.]

As for what's happened to us, I'm one hundred percent certain it is some form of magic. [He grins, too widely, showing off too many too pointy teeth.]

[She ignored his first mutterings in favor of getting the information she wanted.

She was disappointed by his reply.

With a disgusted look at his smile, she demanded a better answer to her question.]

It's not only magic. Someone did this. Who?

You mentioned that ruby thing--you heard the poem too, right? It mentioned a "Davy Jones".

[He looks thoughtful for a moment.]

I think that's a musician. Rock, maybe?

[Was he a musician? Narcissa had never heard of any real person with that name. In any case, it couldn't be a musician.]

I don't think it's a musician who did this. Yet, I also highly doubt that this was the work of some muggle legend.

[Because she did at least hear the name before. She didn't pay much attention to it, though. Muggles and their stories.]

Someone thinks this is a game. Tell me who cursed you. It may be the same person.

[But her eyes narrowed. He was the only one that showed any sign of magic, given his appearance and "curse". If that's even what it was.]
