Edward Kenway | Assassin's Creed

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-28 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Town Square:

It isn't the first time Edward's woken up somewhere he didn't fall asleep at, or know entirely how he got there to begin with. That nobody he knew the face of was in the immediate area was only mildly concerning, he's got his clothes and his weapons and there's no new bleeding wounds that he can find so all in all it's not too bad.

First things first is finding his ship, then it's giving a bit of hell to whoever dragged him to a somewhat poorly looking fountain.

So he just strides on up to the nearest person looking his way with a bit of a grin, "Ey, you mind pointing a man towards the harbor? I seem to have been put to land prematurely."

On a Ship:

Despite his eccentricities, Edward does know his way around a ship backwards and forwards and likely upside down as well if pressed to perform as such. Even if he doesn't like working under someone else, he's not one to shirk duties or otherwise be of little use.

"Any of you lot know a song or two? Ain't right to have a ship sailing on a fine day and not be singin' yanno?" He speaks up, looking up from whatever it is he's busied his hands with.

Choose your own adventure?

Gretel has (temporarily) accepted that her brother isn't in the immediate vicinity. That will soon give way to having a very... intense chat with someone. Probably with her knife to their throat. She wants to know where she is, how she got here, and what magic could possibly work on her to make her not remember anything since she and Hansel left Augsburg.

The man's grin makes her glare. He's either an idiot or he's in on it. She hasn't decided which.

"To the east," she replies, crossing her arms over her vest, crossbow at her side. "About an hour's walk."

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-28 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Edward's smile drops at her scowl, so much for pleasantries to a stranger. "No need to be sour about helping someone out, lass. What matter of bees gotten in to your bonnet?" He asks, eyebrow raising as he appraises her, crossbow and all.

"I've been kidnapped, dragged to a port I don't know, and my brother's missing," Gretel snapped. "The way I see it, you're either another sap in the same boat or part of the group that's responsible."

Her eyes stay narrow as she watches him. His appraisal is turned back on him, merciless. And her gaze? Says she finds him wanting.
stolenrobes: (ur full of schite)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-28 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not much of one for kidnapping, too much fuss for too little payoff I've found." He shrugs, "Can't say I blame him for leaving you behind here though, but if you're pressed to find him I can help you look here. I've an eye for spotting those I'm looking for."

There's worse things than some girl not seeing him as a threat, plenty don't until he's cutting through them on to the next man behind them.

[personal profile] haventkilledusyet 2014-10-28 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Hansel didn't leave me." It's almost growled, a warning for him to watch what he says. Because she won't tolerate a repeat of that without throwing her best punch. At the very least. Not that he probably thinks she knows how to use her crossbow. Most men don't until she proves it.

But... Her expression falters just a little. "I need to find him, though. He might be sick."
stolenrobes: (sounds like a plan)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-28 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
He raises his hands at her anger, "I'm just saying that you wouldn't be the first sister left at port when a ships sails before dawn. Though if he's not then he'll be a bit easier to find, and I'm sure the harbor master has a log of crews that've sailed out of here."

Whether they were accurate or not was anyone's guess.

"He got a name, your brother? And I can't be calling you 'lass' the while time either."
haventkilledusyet: (Witch hunter)

[personal profile] haventkilledusyet 2014-10-28 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
"If a crew's got him, he isn't with them willingly. Which means I need to find them. I have a bolt for each of their throats." Because if anyone's kidnapped her brother and is keeping him away from her? They're going to die. It's just that simple.

"His name's Hansel. I'm Gretel."

"You don't know that, there's reason enough for a lad to take to the seas without being press ganged in to it."

If it's anyone he knows and likes then he'll have to stop her from killing them, otherwise he won't do much to stop her. Even if he is beginning to think that really, her brother just wanted away from her.

"Edward Kenway, Catain of the Jackdaw wherever she's at. Now how about we take a look for that brother of yours? You tried the tavern yet?"

town square!

[ Lucky for him, she always hung out by the fountain whenever she was on the island. Usually to read a book. But she also stayed there to welcome anyone who "just arrived" from another world. It was a fun hobby for her. Plus it was a good way to scout for new recruits. ]

It's not too far from here. Head west and just keep going. It's hard to miss.
stolenrobes: (sounds like a plan)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-29 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
[well, she's certainly an interesting sight.]

Many thanks Miss, you also wouldn't happen to know which way it is towards Havanna would you? The stars aren't out yet and I'd rather not wait to set off.
anelegantmyth: (curious: kindly repeat that)

[personal profile] anelegantmyth 2014-10-29 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Havanna?

[ Was that supposed to be some sort of island? Well should be if he needed stars to get to it, right? She's studied the map of this world so many times, she could probably name every island in this world. But Havanna?

Unless... ]

You're not from this world, are you?
stolenrobes: (Sasscaptain Kenway)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-29 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
There's only one world, big as it is. If you don't know Havanna then this isn't where I last saw.

[It's probably the Pacific Ocean then, though how in seven hells he got that far off from the Caribbean is anyone's guess.]

Just pray my crew hasn't left me and stolen my ship. They'll be needing whatever prayers they can get if my Jackdaw's not there.
anelegantmyth: (explaining : calm)

[personal profile] anelegantmyth 2014-10-29 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
...huh, well it's a good thing you got the whole pirate thing down. It'll definitely make your life easier in this world.

[ But she does set aside her book. Looks like it was time to get serious if she wanted to get through to this guy. Though he did kind of remind her of her captain. That's cute. ]

Listen sweetheart, whatever world you originated from, you're not there anymore. I don't know this "Havanna" place not because I've never been there. But because it probably doesn't exist here. Do you understand?
stolenrobes: (you sir are a killjoy)

I'm already sorry about him

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-29 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Duw uchod

[It's muttered and irritated and welsh but he's not going to- nope. She called him sweetheart and is using that look that he's been tired of since he could notice people looking at him.]

I ain't your sweetheart, first of all. And second of all I don't need some high and mighty fussy looking lady talking to me like I'm touched in the head when she's the one talking about being on a different world all together and sounding like she should be carted to bedlam.

LMAO I love him already

[personal profile] anelegantmyth 2014-10-29 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well hey, I'm just trying to be nice. But if you don't want to believe me, then that's fine too. I mean, you'll figure it out soon enough.

[ Cue the sweet innocent smile. See, she's used to talking to crazy pirate men, and she was positive this guy would get along with her captain if the two ever met...speaking of meeting, she hasn't introduced herself yet. Whoops, how rude of her. ]

By the way, my name is Cynthia. Sinnoh league champion and quartermaster to the Hazmat Crew.
stolenrobes: (Sasscaptain Kenway)

he's a national treasure really

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-30 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
There aint much to figure out, there's a sea and ships upon it and people willing to pay for things to be done aboard them.

[Least complicated thing ever really, what's complicated is how she's insisting that it's not the same sea he knows.]

Edward Kenway, Captain of the Jackdaw. I've no idea what sort of champion you are but it isn't one of making sense.
anelegantmyth: (happy: good for you)

[personal profile] anelegantmyth 2014-10-30 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Jackdaw huh? Never heard of it.

[ Bitchy? Or maybe that was her alternate way of getting through to him the message that THIS ISN'T YOUR WORLD DAMMIT. But the mention of being a captain does catch her attention. Clearly this guy has a whole lot more experience, and she could use more experienced men in her crew. ]

...but I'd love to hear more.
stolenrobes: (I love ships)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-30 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Her. A ship is a she not an it.

[Everyone who's ever been around them should know that as far as Edward believes.]

The Jackdaw's a fine brig, I've sailed her right out from under the noses of a bunch of fools who thought to sail in a hurricane. She was the only one to survive the storm and so she's home as much as the island and the sea she sails on.

[If he sounds like a proud father it's... not too far off really.]
anelegantmyth: (explaining: but seriously though)

[personal profile] anelegantmyth 2014-10-30 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well she sounds like a fine ship and you must be one amazing captain. But what about your crew? What are they like?

[She was trying to sounds as interested as possible. Not because he was officially a candidate for scouting (when he stops being crazy), but because she was genuinely curious what a REAL pirate crew was like. Oh sure, her crew was top notch. Richest crew around with a shiny new ship to boot. But this guy just had a vibe to him. Like you just know he has some good stories. ]
stolenrobes: (pirate bros)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-30 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
They're a crew of proper men for the job, most I've helped out of spots and are willing to chase the prizes with me. When they tire of me or the Jackdaw they go off to their own way. Don't always get on but rum and money and a good fight keep us all happy as able.

[He shrugs about it, he cares about his crew and the others but they're not what keeps him going out.]

anelegantmyth: (relaxed: quiet time)

[personal profile] anelegantmyth 2014-11-01 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Rum and money and a good fight" huh? You sound EXACTLY like my captain. I swear, you two would get along if you were to meet.

[ Or clash? After all, they were so alike it was a little strange. Cool because she was pretty much looking an the western reflection of her darling captain. But strange because...she's looking at the western reflection of her darling captain. ]

Actually, you two should meet sometime. Feel free to visit the Nightfury. We've got plenty of rum and not enough people to drink it.

The woman's arms, while they had been tightly crossed over her chest, loosened slightly at the man's smile. He spoke with an accent she was unfamiliar with but he sounded as lost as she was, but then... maybe she was more lost. It hadn't even occurred to her there might be a harbor in this town. She did not return the smile, hers was a more puzzled look taking in the man and her new surroundings all at the same time.

It was very highly unusual for Jun to wake up in a strange town. She usually kept a good look out on her surroundings, so she knew exactly where she was and more importantly where potential enemies were. This was beyond strange.

"I am unsure."

There was the fountain and the small grouping of buildings around it, but very little else, not even a sign that might have pointed in the correct direction.

"I do not know where this is."

A faint pout pulled at the corners of her mouth, hesitant to admit she was so very out of her element to a stranger.

"Can you tell me, please, where we are?"
stolenrobes: (sounds like a plan)

[personal profile] stolenrobes 2014-10-30 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
"On an island, you can smell the sea around us." He shrugs, taking in the cut of her clothing with a wary sort of resignation. He's met those Assassin folks and it wasn't exactly a very kind encounter, even if he did help save them from the Templars he'd led to their temple hideout.

Edward Kenway's life has been a series of ridiculous meetings of late and he's not sure he really wants to get involved with another... but she's young and lost and he's got a soft place in his heart even with the crust of advenurelust and worry only for himself over most of it.

"No idea what it's name is, but I wager it's at least not a hostile one considering there's no guns or swords pointed at us."
jadeblade: (Looking to the side)

[personal profile] jadeblade 2014-10-31 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That was true. She hadn't thought to do it, having almost literally just blinked her eyes and awakened here, but now as she stood there and smelled the air as he had mentioned she could smell the salt in the breeze. Salt and... fish. Apparently there was some one gutting fish nearby as well.

"But I was not near the sea before."

This was all very curious, almost like being spirited away in one of the old stories she remembered being told when she was a child. One day you were walking along minding your own business and the next you were in the world of spirits. They were only stories and yet...

"You were looking for your ship?"

He had said he had 'put to land prematurely' so that implied he might be looking for his ship.
