Test Drive for November 2014 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for [community profile] high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

See you during the application round!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ Arrr, here be buried treasure, but not all that glitters is gold! Will ye be telling your mateys what ye found, or keeping it for yourselves?

The woman's arms, while they had been tightly crossed over her chest, loosened slightly at the man's smile. He spoke with an accent she was unfamiliar with but he sounded as lost as she was, but then... maybe she was more lost. It hadn't even occurred to her there might be a harbor in this town. She did not return the smile, hers was a more puzzled look taking in the man and her new surroundings all at the same time.

It was very highly unusual for Jun to wake up in a strange town. She usually kept a good look out on her surroundings, so she knew exactly where she was and more importantly where potential enemies were. This was beyond strange.

"I am unsure."

There was the fountain and the small grouping of buildings around it, but very little else, not even a sign that might have pointed in the correct direction.

"I do not know where this is."

A faint pout pulled at the corners of her mouth, hesitant to admit she was so very out of her element to a stranger.

"Can you tell me, please, where we are?"

"On an island, you can smell the sea around us." He shrugs, taking in the cut of her clothing with a wary sort of resignation. He's met those Assassin folks and it wasn't exactly a very kind encounter, even if he did help save them from the Templars he'd led to their temple hideout.

Edward Kenway's life has been a series of ridiculous meetings of late and he's not sure he really wants to get involved with another... but she's young and lost and he's got a soft place in his heart even with the crust of advenurelust and worry only for himself over most of it.

"No idea what it's name is, but I wager it's at least not a hostile one considering there's no guns or swords pointed at us."

That was true. She hadn't thought to do it, having almost literally just blinked her eyes and awakened here, but now as she stood there and smelled the air as he had mentioned she could smell the salt in the breeze. Salt and... fish. Apparently there was some one gutting fish nearby as well.

"But I was not near the sea before."

This was all very curious, almost like being spirited away in one of the old stories she remembered being told when she was a child. One day you were walking along minding your own business and the next you were in the world of spirits. They were only stories and yet...

"You were looking for your ship?"

He had said he had 'put to land prematurely' so that implied he might be looking for his ship.
