Test Drive for December 2013 Apps

Welcome to your monthly Test Drive for [community profile] high_seas! Here is where new players can test out their characters' voices, old players can try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

See you during the application round!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

♦ NAVY SHIPS! Cannon fire! Guns and explosions! It's a Pirates vs. Navy battle! **HINT: This might be a good one to try this time around... :D

[Well, he certainly isn't looking for him.

This impeccably unhappy fellow is on a mission. One that involves him looking for an explanation--well, several explanations, actually. First, and foremost, is figuring out where he is--and, just who the hell brought him here. He'd like to personally thank them for the whole...dumping him in a strange town, thing.

Next on the list, he's aiming to find out just how he isn't... well, dead. Last he'd checked, dying had been a thing that was happening rather quickly to him. He's going to assume it's all because of the ones who brought him here, which is the entire reason finding them is first on the list.

But, no, he never looked at the fountain. No, he's not paying any attention to the journal. He's only just awakened here, after all--...Suddenly, his thoughts are interrupted by the fact that his path is blocked. By a rather large group of animals. He steps to the left, to go around them...and, go figure, the dumb creatures move with him.

Out of my way!

[His outburst causes quite a few wary heads to turn in his direction, but he appears to be the furthest from worried about what they think. Because, seriously. Damn rappigs... Wait a second...

Asch pauses, giving them a just the faintest of questioning looks. Those definitely don't look like rappigs. Well, whatever, there's more important things to worry about. He'll deal with that mystery, later. Maybe. Either way, it won't be until after he finishes investigating the town. Watching both the animals and people walk away, he allows just a bit of a frustrated sigh to escape. As expected, the standing idly allows his mind to wander.

Once again, it's plagued by thoughts on Luke and Natalia's group. It's not written on his face--but, frankly, he can't help but worry. Until he reminds himself that those idiots are more than likely fine, considering he hasn't seen any of them here. They've probably already...

Damn it. Clenching his teeth, the scowl on his face deepens. Without further delay, he immediately resumes walking, feet moving at an even more hastened pace than before.

[Sync hadn't been looking for anything in particular, he had no reason to. He had read over the journal and the message on the fountain, and none of it meant a damned thing to him. It only gave a small clue, barely enough to quell the rage. However, unlike some people, he knows when to set his personal feelings aside to make sure he doesn't die. His existence may be worthless, but he'll be damned if he's going to let some pitiful foreign Navy take him out.

He pauses the moment he lands after jumping one roof to the next, listening to see if he heard right. But it's only out of habit because he knows he heard right, he's not some fool who can't even recognize a familiar voice, or would be one to pass it off as merely a figment of his imagination. And not only did he hear him, but he also hears those rather adamant soldiers he'd been taking his time to avoid acknowledge the shout as well.

There's several options laid out in front of him in those few seconds, and it doesn't take more than a few quick calculations to decide that as things stand it would be beneficial to have someone familiar around. Even if that someone happened to be a traitor that should be just as dead as Sync himself.

He moves quickly and silently, outrunning the Naval officers effortlessly from above them and doesn't bother stopping to explain, no. He's always been faster than Asch, and when he wants to he knows he can manhandle the other when necessary. And right now, he deems it necessary. Jumping down from the building into the street, he has just enough time to grab his former comrade and drag him into an alley, pushing him up against a wall with a sharp look that plainly states be quiet or else.

Not as though he thinks he needs to, Asch isn't that stupid and even he should be able to hear the officers who come down the street only moments after Sync hid them away. He doesn't move an inch, stays close to the wall next to Asch as he watches the Naval officers pass by, barking out commands to keep a closer eye on the area for any trouble. It's only when their voices fade into the distance down the street that he speaks.]

Are you trying to die again? You'd think one humiliating death would be enough for you.
