He pauses the moment he lands after jumping one roof to the next, listening to see if he heard right. But it's only out of habit because he knows he heard right, he's not some fool who can't even recognize a familiar voice, or would be one to pass it off as merely a figment of his imagination. And not only did he hear him, but he also hears those rather adamant soldiers he'd been taking his time to avoid acknowledge the shout as well.
There's several options laid out in front of him in those few seconds, and it doesn't take more than a few quick calculations to decide that as things stand it would be beneficial to have someone familiar around. Even if that someone happened to be a traitor that should be just as dead as Sync himself.
He moves quickly and silently, outrunning the Naval officers effortlessly from above them and doesn't bother stopping to explain, no. He's always been faster than Asch, and when he wants to he knows he can manhandle the other when necessary. And right now, he deems it necessary. Jumping down from the building into the street, he has just enough time to grab his former comrade and drag him into an alley, pushing him up against a wall with a sharp look that plainly states be quiet or else.
Not as though he thinks he needs to, Asch isn't that stupid and even he should be able to hear the officers who come down the street only moments after Sync hid them away. He doesn't move an inch, stays close to the wall next to Asch as he watches the Naval officers pass by, barking out commands to keep a closer eye on the area for any trouble. It's only when their voices fade into the distance down the street that he speaks.]
Are you trying to die again? You'd think one humiliating death would be enough for you.
