The Hope of the Seas is a Ketch and can take on four more crewmates. With the exception of Zeref, who mostly abstains from fighting for entirely different reasons, the crew of this ship, as per their former captain's guidance, usually doesn't involve themselves in typical piratey activities (robbing ships, pillaging villages, etc.) They also try to avoid the Navy, but can and will defend themselves or others if push came to shove (even if Zeref wouldn't involve himself unless absolutely necessary).

I should note that Zeref cannot control his magic 100% of the time, so it is recommended that your character have a way to resist magic, or, for lack of a better description, have a soul that doesn't 'work' the same way as others (for example, Mami and Homura's Soul Gems). Undead characters would be safe, too. It's not necessary, as nothing will happen with his magic unless permission is granted, but it's fun for plotting purposes.

We've lost a fair bit of our crew to drops, so newcomers are very welcome! You'll get to meet a snarky colonel, a teenager who is actually a seven-year-old with emotional maturity to match, a kind of villainish Pokémon trainer sailor, a small child who wants to be a knight and another small child who thinks this is all a horrible horrible idea.

The crew's goals are currently more about exploring and information gathering than taking sides one way or another, though they can get their hands dirty if they absolutely have to. With their old captain gone and Jade in charge, the kids are sadly stuck with somewhat morally questionable role models.

Pacing-wise, we tend to be pretty laid-back and backtag-friendly, but we do plan for shenanigans regularly!

Warnings: No one on this ship is aware that you shouldn't be naked in front of others, and at least two out of three are shameless flirts (while the third is a stick-in-the-mud). The dog is liable to sniff your crotch, but will also cuddle you to keep you warm at night, so that's okay. Unless it's already too hot for you, but that's not the dog's problem, now is it? Because cuddles are awesome.

So, Cross is new and in need of a crew.

Now it's probably a good idea if I get really quick into some of his moral stand points/personality/skills so you get an idea of his character.

Personality
-Puts on a brave and optimistic happy hero face
-Inwardly deals with a lot of self confidence issues and attention seeking
-Is exceptionally bright for his age
-Empathetic and kind to others and willing to help pretty much anyone out.
-One last detail is his refusal to kill people

Skills
-Researching, he's got a knack for it.
-Combat skills (sword, martial arts, throwing knives)
-good with computers (though not really applicable to this setting)
-Mechanical skills (ex able to outfit his own prosthetic with a grappling hook)
-Smithing skills (able to make weapons and armor)
-Chemistry (he's able to make a few types of bombs with it)

Other than that, he's a hard worker and willing to do whatever it takes to please and be well liked by anyone who would be on his crew.

Allow me to make my pitch for the Katabami!

Motochika would love to have more people with an upbeat, positive sort of attitude, that's for sure. He's a pirate, sure, but mostly because he likes taking other people's stuff and people thinking he's awesome for it. He's also an engineer who loves building automatons and the like, so he'd definitely want someone around who can appreciate what he does. More people around to help out means more opportunities to build things, too, so that's bound to make him happy.

We're a small crew right now, but I'm really interested in building our numbers and getting out there more!

There's a couple ways of this guy finding a crew. Either someone inviting him, or him just sneaking on board a ship when they start to leave port. There are pros and cons to having him as a crew member.

Master at hand to hand combat
Used to commanding large groups of soldiers

Good at following orders, no matter what they are
Stealthy as shit

Cons:
Cruel and merciless
Snarky little shit
Hates everyone

May backstab a crew if he views them as too weak or naive

Alfred from Batman said it best. "Some men aren't looking for anything logical like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

He'll also be having a mini personal crisis that might him more moody and bitchy than usual if someone catches him in a bad mood. But at least he's an awesome child soldier.

So, I haven't introduced Stephen yet OOCly, but:

He is a former United Irishman, a Catholic, and a skilled surgeon. He has other talents and may or may not be an assassin which include command of several languages and skills in espionage. He is a duellist, skilled in sword and shooting.

He comes off as pretty eccentric (and he will fall into water a lot, it just happens) and will follow animals around for days studying them if he can.

I know I've already solicited offers on Plurk, so I know there's interest from the Shepherd, but I'll throw Kai up here anyway to see what else is out there before I make a final decision.

Kai knows nothing about boats or sailing or piracy, but she's very good at hair and makeup and fashion and chatting about boys and beating the shit out of people. She's a pretty friendly big sister type, all things considered, she just has a hair trigger temper and she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

So...if you need a makeover or someone who's good with a sword, she's available.

I realize I've already sought out opportunities with people, but I never mind having more suggestions!

Ambrosia is a pretty deadly pirate back home and is one of her world's most wanted thieves around. She's great at navigating, but never minds doing the dirty jobs (scrubbing the decks, for instance) if someone else can't do it. Beyond this, she's fiercely loyal to her crew and friends. She might tease you to kingdom come, but it just means she likes you enough/is comfortable with you.

She's also a captain of her own ship, too!

Dave could use a navigator and he wouldn't make her clean or anything. That said, I can't promise that any cleaning will get done otherwise. It depends on who else he ends up recruiting. His crew's all guys so far and I feel sorry for the state of his ship if there aren't any women on board.

+ If anyone speaks German, Finnian will be able to understand them (Not useful here but you know)

- Being strong is a double edged sword.

- Accidents can and probably will happen.

I haven't OOC introed her yet, but Lenalee here is also going to be looking for a crew herself. She can handle grumpy people easily enough as well as people like her brother. She can at least bake and is a kind and gentle soul.

She can also kick ass and take names. Below are advantages and disadvantages of having her in your crew:

Advantages:
+ She can cook
+ She can handle certain types of people
+ She can fight if it calls for it, she can even fight on water although here that is limited to just one hour.

Disadvantages:
- She can be emotional
- Her fighting equipment is made out of her own blood, so if you damage it she has to use that to fix it.
- If you piss her off enough or make her angry she will hit you.

Sob, I haven't had a chance to intro Helen yet but she'll be looking for a crew! She's a badass swordswoman who loves to drink, loves a good fight, and never gives up even if her chances of winning are slim to non-existent.

The good:

- She has exceptional speed/strength.
- She's a skilled warrior! She takes pride in being a warrior.
- She's incredibly loyal and won't abandon her teammates ever.
- She gets really protective of her friends, and will look out for them.

The not so good:

- She is a troublemaker and she likes to annoy people for her own amusement.
- She is hotheaded and tends to act before she thinks about the consequences.
- Unless her leader proves to be REALLY GOOD at what they do, Helen will have a hard time following orders.
- Even if she does admire the leader, she might go against their word anyway because she'll just feel she can.
