Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[hello angry lady. Luffy doesn't know you, and you're not who he's looking for, but he's curious anyway so he'll come closer as he's munching on an apple]

[It wouldn't be the first time the Duke has been punched in the gut, though it also doesn't occur to him that he could have been. Hair metal culture doesn't quite mesh with pirate culture.

Duke shrugs dismissively.]

Can't be that hard! What do you need to sail? A crew! What's a crew? A bunch of people! What do people need? Organization! Who's better at organizing people than me?

Nobody. [He swipes his arms outward at the word, then rubs his chin. There's no mistaking the gleam in his eye. Hobnobbing with the best is at least a step gaining back at least a bit of his old power.]

I'm more curious about the captain you mentioned. Who is this majestic cat?

Downtown, obviously. We've been here before.

Eh?! We have?! [that's a surprise] So we're really in our world then? [no that's weird] Or is it all in the same place?

And you've completely thrown us off course. [Points up at the sails that the ropes control.] Do you even realize what the rigging is usually for?

[When he came over for a friendly hello he didn't know that you were going to end up talking his head off about piracy stuffy Bobbery.

He does not do good with long stories...]

[ It looks like a "downtown" that they've been to before, how could Luffy not recognize it?

Clearly someone hadn't been paying attention during orientation because the whole idea of different worlds is new to Zoro. ]

[He knows he has to get back home before Sora assumes he's taken off again and charges off on another trip through the entire universe trying to find him, but...those ships are big. Kind of unlikely he'd be able to sail one on his own.]

Hm... It would probably be a really terrible idea to try to build a raft again.

Yeah cuz of the Roger thing we have to find jewels to make a wish. [nod. nod.] At first I thought it was the bear guy, but now I dunno.

[She is by no means a morning person, even after trying to adjust her sleep schedule after she arrived. Kagerou's boisterous arrival causes her to jump and almost spill her mug of coffee. Fortunately she recovers quickly enough to shuffle over to the door and open it for her fellow seamstress.]

Well with how excited you are about it I would certainly hope it helps.

I just wish I could say he was the worst of the lot.

[Smoker tensed extremely at the pat to his back, but mostly went with it... Sort of.]

Uh-huh. And just why was he treating you? How did you two meet? [He sees right this story of yours, okay.]

And something for the lady? [Turns to Basco.] What do you want? Don't try the rum or ale, it's so watered down, a flea couldn't get drunk on it.

[You might regret that insane decision to join him Basco.]

[Dinah glances to this new person, wondering if they're a local or not (she can't tell). But they had asked a question so the least she could do was answer him.]

No, the town I used to live in had an old broken down fountain like this.

[He grins at her response, half tempted to unhook the gold earring and toss it to her, but maybe later. She can't be more than thirteen though, and as Marco comes from a world where fishman and mermaids are frequently kidnapped and sold as slaves -- something Marco fought vehemently against -- it makes him a bit nervous to see her out on her own.]

Oh? Not even your nakama? [A teasing grin, though half of him expects she might not recognize that word.]

-With a groan, Kagerou set down the wooden case. It seemed to be two boxes, one larger with a smaller one on top of it. She began removing the side paneling, and it soon became obvious what the werewolf had happened to obtain...

[Those in the tavern who are a bit observant can see a group of pirates harassing someone in the corner. The "someone" appears to be a somewhat young man, lithe and generally weak-looking; that would explain the pirates threatening him. Perhaps surprisingly, however, he doesn't seem to be begging for himself -- for those who can catch snippets of the conversation, it almost seems like he's pleading for them to leave him alone for their sake.

Either way, the pirates don't seem to be taking it well, looming on him a bit more.]

[To say Virtik wasn't the best equipped for a typical ship was... well, an understatement. The little Miraluka is trying his best and he isn't the worst you can find, really, but he's not exactly the best either. Though he's managed to salvage some of it, spilled buckets or toppled piles are a bit more of a common occurrence...]
