Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[ This particular island seems to be made up entirely of beach, bar, and bustling, colorful market. The stalls sell everything, from food and clothes to jewel-like shells crafted into necklaces. ]

Ooh! Look, look! Isn't this pretty?

[ A chipper, excitable Nakamori Aoko can be found bouncing around, exclaiming over this and cooing over that. After weeks at sea, a chance to let loose and do a little window shopping is nothing but a dream come true. And, who knows? Maybe she'll buy a trinket or two? Tee hee, that fish-shaped hairpin would give Kaito a heart attack . . . ]

[JUST WHAT HE WANTED TO DO ALL DAY: WINDOW SHOPPING]

Yes, yes, it's very pretty. Are we done yet?

[He's not even bothering to look at what she's pointing out]

Mou, why are you so impatient?! We only just got here!

[ And since he isn't bothering to look, she'll just have to shove it under his nose. LOOK, KAITO. FISH. ]

[Guess who went from standing right next to her to standing down the street and yelling at her in .1 seconds flat]

What the hell, Ahoko?!

[sapphireseas]

You weren't paying attention!

[ Waves the hairclips at him, super threateningly, but since she hasn't bought them (yet) she doesn't march over to scold him properly. ]

[carptricks]

You're buying fish-shaped hair clips, of course I'm not paying attention!

[And he's staying as faaaar away from her as he can get]

[sapphireseas]

[ Oooh, this is a conundrum. If she looks away so that can buy the clips, he might run off . . . but giving up on the clips would mean that he wins. (And they really are pretty!)

Aoko huffs. ]

You weren't paying attention before I found these, either! [ Turns her back on him, nose in the air. ] I'm going to buy them.

[carptricks]

[Urk. Not as planned (or wanted)]

Just don't wear 'em around me, and you can do whatever you want with them.

[sapphireseas]

[ Ignores him for a moment so that she can haggle with the merchant! It's still a little weird, but she's come to find that it's a useful and necessary skill.

A few minutes later, she turns back around with a bright, beaming smile, hairclips wrapped and safely tucked away in her purse. ]

Maybe Kaito should let me help him get over that silly fear instead of running away all the time~.

[carptricks]

[. . . he takes a wary step back :|;;]

Maybe next time you ask me to go shopping with you, I'll say no thanks.

[sapphireseas]

Maybe next time you can sit on the ship, bored and alone.

[ Honestly, he's so childish. ]

Where do you want to go next?

[allendsmeat]

[You might hear a distant call of 'hey! Get back here!'

But here comes a Luffy! Tearing through the streets, mouth full of food and looking over his shoulder for possible pursuers. He may not notice Aoko however]

[sapphireseas]

[ Hear it she does, and she looks up to investigate . . . just in time for Luffy to crash right into her. She goes down with a yelp and a flail, dropping the two pretty hairpins she'd been examining. ]

H-Hey!

[allendsmeat]

Ahh forffy! [he swallows and helps her up, swallowing the food. And then the shouts of hey come again] Ahh crap! Better hurry! [and without thinking he grabs her arm and starts to run]

[sapphireseas]

Wait—!

[ Instead of running, she grabs his wrist with her free hand and yanks, heels digging into the cobble. ]

What do you think you're doing?!

[allendsmeat]

[he keeps running but instead of taking her his arm stretches...and stretches. After a moment he realizes what's going on and looks back at her]

Running from those guys.

[pointing to the angry vendors plowing down the street]

[sapphireseas]

[ W. What. What is this. Aoko stares, bewildered, at arm she's still clinging to. ]

Y-Your . . . Your arm . . .

[ is probably a fake! she concludes; it's just like thieves to pull tricks like this, no matter what world they're from. With a thunderous from, she tightens her grip and starts trying to reel him back in. ]

You're not going anywhere! You took that food from them, didn't you?! You have to pay them!

[allendsmeat]

Yeah but I don't have any money yet! [he lets her pull on his arm but doesn't move and pretty soon it's going to turn into a kind of rubbery looping rope.]

[sapphireseas]

[ Those angry vendors sure are getting closer. When Luffy doesn't move, Aoko gives up on her attempt to reel him in . . . but doesn't let go of his arm. If anything, her grip tightens further. ]

Then pay them back another way! You can't just steal from people, you know! That's wrong!

[allendsmeat]

Hmm okay. [he's looking for his nakama, but--] What should I do?

[indiscrimination]

[Ranma, in his girl form no less, can't figure out for the life of him how he got dragged into this. Nakamori was a nice girl, but it was still him hanging out with a girl, shopping here and there.]

It's okay. [As disinterested as a girl can sound in cute trinkets.] How much longer's this gonna be?

[He really really wants to see if he can heat some water soon and go back to being a guy.]

[sapphireseas]

[ Okay? Aoko peers down at the trinket critically. She really, really likes it . . . ]

We can go as soon as I've bought this. It'll take five minutes!

[ So don't complain, is left unspoken. She turns back to the stall's owner with a bright smile, and begins to haggle. ]

[There are so many sights to see, fabulous exports completely new to her, how exciting! Rapunzel rushes from stall to stall, examining everything she can get her hands on. Look at all these fashions she's never seen, she could make beautiful dresses with this kind of skirt style, or delicious fruits from far off shores, or the lovely jewellery Aoko's fawning over. Rapunzel runs to her side to see.]

It's gorgeous!

Do you think I should get it?

[ It's a fish-shaped hairpin, which might have made it comical if it wasn't for the obvious love the craftsman had for his work. It glitters in the sun, the tiny inlaid sapphires as vibrant is the nearby sea. ]
