Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! ♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

[ Just. Not having this at all. He might be kind of giving Jabberwock a sort of pass because Aussie, but come on. ]

Canada's not a part 'f America, sorry.

[You are really not making any sense to him, Sefton. Why are you so wrong about common knowledge?]

The last time I looked at a map, I'm pretty certain that I saw Canada was part of North America.

Not the USA. S' wrong.

[No really what is that, Jabberwock has no clue as to what the USA is.]

[polarization]

The USA. [ As if Jabberwock didn't hear the first time. Sefton's had that trouble enough times already, with his enunciation issues and then trying to adequately project at the same time. ]

[Maybe if you weren't up in the crow's nest then it might be easier to notice that he heard it just fine.]

What's the USA? I've never heard of it.

[polarization]

[ The crow's nest is the perfect personification of Sefton's personal bubble. He will never leave it. Except when he's hungry. ]

... The United States of America? You've never heard of that?

[jawsthatbite]

[There's a moment where Jabberwock is quietly thinking on it before he connects it to the closest thing he can think of.]

Are you talking about the Union because if you are, I've never heard it use States in its name before. Otherwise, I have no idea what you mean.

[polarization]

The Union? [ Bzuh? ] Well, sort of. You from... the past or something?

[jawsthatbite]

The United Nations of North America. It's located south of Canada, primarily a French speaking country, incredibly isolationist. [Give him a moment.] Is the year 2006 of the common era considered the past for you?

[polarization]

... technically, yeah. 'Cept none of that's right.

[jawsthatbite]

That's strange, everything sounds right to me.

[polarization]

Only right part's the geography. We don't speak French 'n we're not isolated. World's melting pot 'n all.

[jawsthatbite]

Now that sounds more like Canada than the Union, though I'm sure some people would say the Empire's a bit like a melting pot too.

[polarization]

What Empire?

The British Empire.

[Sefton, what rock have you been hiding under, seriously.]

[polarization]

[ He's kind of been doing the opposite, actually. ]

... Y'mean the United Kingdom?

[jawsthatbite]

[Jabberwock seriously facepalms because really?]

No, I mean the entire empire, not just Great Britain.

[polarization]

S' not just Britain. It's got other territories 'n Ireland 'n stuff.

[jawsthatbite]

So is the empire, but not all of Ireland. Just the Northern bit. We don't use the United Kingdom bit for things outside Britain though. That's just strange.

[polarization]

[ Sefton just shakes his head. ]

[jawsthatbite]

Wait, wait, I get it. This is the different world thing. Differences between what we know and that both of us are right. This is quite strange!

[Says the madman who hunts monsters.]

That explains everything. We could possibly return to our previous conversation now that you're done telling old Jabberwock how wrong you think he is.

[polarization]

No point. S' just nonsense.

[ Which... is the point, Sefton. Also totally ignoring the fact that Jabberwock is probably right and this whole thing is weird and why is this his life, dangit. ]

[jawsthatbite]

Now you're getting it. That's exactly the point!

[Give up, Sefton. You can't win against Jabberwock.]
