[CAPTAIN MINAZUKI HAS GONE INSANE. SHE HAS TAKEN THE SHIP WAY UP NORTH AND IS GOING TO MAKE EVERYONE EXPLORE AN ICY ISLAND OF ICE, SNOW, AND ICINESS. SURELY SOMEBODY CAN MAKE HER SEE REASON?

Actually, she's certain that there's a piece of the Piedra Roja here. And she doesn't think it's that cold.]

[The navy is supposed to be keeping the seas safe, but in Karen's opinion they're doing roughly the opposite. She has therefore taken on the role of a peacekeeper herself, which is why she's standing here on the deck of what may or may not be her ship, holding a sword to someone's throat.]

Now, are you going to come quietly?

*Rita Mordio, Minazuki's mage assistant on board this ship, has a lot of useful talents. Tact is not one of them.*

It's the best lead we've had in weeks. Or would you prefer wandering aimlessly?

[Along with Captain Minazuki's crew was the small if crazy crew of the SS Hummy. And the little pirate captain cat was plodding next to Karen, looking up at her.]

How much further do you think it is danyan?

[Karen is always happy to be accompanied by kitties. Even on those rare occasions where she clearly isn't.]

It should only be about another day. The weather's already getting colder.

I hope so nya. Everyone will have cupcakes waiting for us when we get back!

*Caren doesn't mind it much either. But that's probably because she lived at the bottom of the ocean. In Antarctica. While not wearing much clothing.*

Good that some of us are focused.

Now they just need someone named Kallen and the crew will be complete!

If nobody else was going to do it, I just have to handle it myself, right?

It's because it's freezing that we're going.

[Honestly Ellen how do you not understand? Weren't blue Cures supposed to be smarter than this?]

Augh, what logic are you running on?

[Days like this she missed being a cat.]

[well. a sword. Joji eyes the sword and the person holding it with what could only be a little hint of annoyance and a lot of boredom. he'd seen worse and been on the receiving end of even worser, so a sword holds little sway over his decisions.]

And let the stew burn?

[It's mostly just for effect, anyway. If she has to fight she'll do the magical girl thing.]

The stew will be fine, I'm sure. Now, come on.

Then you can eat it yourself.

[he reaches up and pushes the sword aside, fingers making a slight clink against the metal of the sword.]

What is the hurry?

Too --! [ And Perona lets out a rather undignified sneeze. ] AH--CHOO! Cold! It's way too cold! [ Pulling her longcoat closer to her body, she attempts to warm herself up, but it doesn't help very much. ]

You must be out of your mind, making us go out there! It's freezing! [ Yup, definitely sending her ghost form out. Perona turns back to settle in a safe corner of the ship. Once she finds somewhere well-hidden, she ejects her spirit from its body and floats back to where Karen is. ]

What are we looking for, anyway?!

[Hopefully she doesn't mind Karen backing away a little. Ghosts with bodies are still ghosts.]

If I'm right, there's still a piece of the Piedra Roja out here that nobody has found.

[ She doesn't mind at all; in fact, she quite enjoys it when people are creeped out by her. ]

Ah? [ Well, that is quite relevant to her interests. Perona swims in front of her, floating backward as they move along. ]

And how do you know this? Did you find a clue?

[it was Mana's own fault for not having any clothes for cold weather. I mean, a crewman had offered her a large heavy coat, but she was still stuck wearing her usual shirt and skirt combo]

C-Captain, a-are you sure we shouldn't turn b-b-back?

[Everyone was supposed to buy warm clothing the last time they were at port! Dammit, Mana, did you use all your money to feed hungry people again?

And ffs it's not THAT cold.]

I'm positive. Underexplored regions like this are the most likely place to find what we're looking for.

Minazuki-san, I-I swear! This is just a big misunderstanding! These refugees just agreed to join my crew! I-I'm not amassing an army or anything!

[for whatever reason, said refugees all happen to be young girls around Mana's age. That's a bit strange, isn't it?]

[It isn't that strange. Karen's crew has a nearly identical composition.]

You seem to find a lot of refugees.

[it makes absolutely no sense, does it? I mean, what draws such people to them?]

Yeah, w-well, I am trying to find people to help...!
