Test Drive for September 2013 Apps

Welcome to our first Test Drive for high_seas! Here is where players can test out their characters' voices, try out new muses, and everyone can help each other get some threads for their applications! Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Too --! [ And Perona lets out a rather undignified sneeze. ] AH--CHOO! Cold! It's way too cold! [ Pulling her longcoat closer to her body, she attempts to warm herself up, but it doesn't help very much. ]

You must be out of your mind, making us go out there! It's freezing! [ Yup, definitely sending her ghost form out. Perona turns back to settle in a safe corner of the ship. Once she finds somewhere well-hidden, she ejects her spirit from its body and floats back to where Karen is. ]

What are we looking for, anyway?!

[Hopefully she doesn't mind Karen backing away a little. Ghosts with bodies are still ghosts.]

If I'm right, there's still a piece of the Piedra Roja out here that nobody has found.

[ She doesn't mind at all; in fact, she quite enjoys it when people are creeped out by her. ]

Ah? [ Well, that is quite relevant to her interests. Perona swims in front of her, floating backward as they move along. ]

And how do you know this? Did you find a clue?

[Karen fights back the urge to tell her to at least pretend to be walking, and instead steps over to point out where she's been making notes on a map.] The few pieces we've found don't tell us much, but when you add in the likely original locations of the pieces that have turned up on other ships, there's a clear pattern. [She indicates a few points on the map.] out of these spots, the one we're going to is furthest north, so it's the least likely to have already been found.

[ Makes sense. She's glad her captain is kind of smart. ] In that case, I will send a hollow to search the area.

[ And out of her body comes a tiny ghost, which starts to float around Karen. ]

[Karen tries and fails to be subtle about always edging away a bit. If asked, she'd say in her defense that at least she's better than Rin. Karen... may be the only one who cares about that comparison.

Despite her reaction, she feels a need to say something.] Er. Good luck?
