Feel free to use one of the prompts below, or come up with something on your own! Comment around, have fun, and remember that any CR formed here does not carry over to the game!

See you during the application round!

♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?

♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!

♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!

♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!

♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!

Fortunately for Liz, she wouldn't have to fight these men alone. Three fireballs exploded into the ground at the men's feet, drawing their attention briefly upward to the rather monstrous sight of someone in a relatively thin deep-sea divers suit perched on a wall. A very long (foot and a half) needle attached to their left arm. The figure jumped off the wall in a surprisingly agile action - surprising for anyone who knew how heavy diver suits with large iron bell-helmets were. For the men below, all they knew was that the armored person was fast, could throw fireballs, and - as the man with the sword was finding out - could wield that nightmare needle as skillfully as any swordsman.

The metal slid along each other before the man was thrown back a good dozen feet and the figure jumped backwards to stand ready for the rest of the attack next to Liz. In case they did attack and didn't run the way the seemed ready to, anyway.

Oh they wouldn’t be attacking again anytime soon. The three fireballs that came down startled the three. The two cowardly men were already turning tail to run, the fires oddly spiking up tall and reaching for them in their own ways. The guy with the sword held his own a moment, metal sliding and then he got thrown back a good distance. he stumbled and looked like he was about to advance again...

Only the fires around him grew up, nine feet tall and started to reach for him, like reddish orange hands grabbing at him. He let out a yell, sword slashing, and backing up, tumbling over a wall of fire behind him, and running off, pants burning.

Liz? She wasn’t putting the fire out just yet, dark eyed and annoyed, wanting to actually chase the guy off into the ocean if she could. If she allowed herself to go any farther with this fire, she’d lose it. Hurt someone. Explode maybe...

The person in the impossible suit and huge needle standing near by. If he was a problem too, she’d handle it as well, but... so far he...she.... it was... helpful.

Orange eyes darted over, staring at the hooded figure with the sword like needle. “...Thanks.”

The figure was formless enough that it could have been a man or a woman or even something that was only vaguely humanoid in shape. The voice that came out of the suit, however, was distinctly female.

"You're welcome," She straightened up and turned the glowing portal towards the other woman. "I wasn't sure how much of a fight they'd put up against you, but they clearly weren't falling back at the threat of being incinerated."

Man, woman or demon, it moved well in that thing. Impressively well. With everything else that was going on around here, she wouldn’t put it past being non-human. A woman's voice though.

Liz backed up a few steps, lowering her flames. She needed to let them go. Stop letting the licking flames encourage her to let go. She always wanted to let it go. her fists flexed and relaxed, and she let out a small breath. “At this point I would have been more than okay with incinerating them.” She had them. She could have dealt with it, but she didn’t WANT to burn anyone.

"They were rather uncouth, weren't they?," Eleanor giggled softly. "They would have deserved it had they continued. I haven't seen anyone else here with power like yours. You don't look like a splicer. And you don't feel like a Sister. Still... you wouldn't be from Rapture, would you?"

[personal profile] youshouldberunning 2014-03-31 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Uncouth huh? Interesting. Her words sounded educated. Not a monster at least. Maybe a higher spirit, or just an interesting human. “No one deserves it, really. But I wouldn’t have minded toasting them a bit.” She could actually admit. As for her powers, she let the fires drop even from her hands, the blue flames going out, as if hiding it now. Her hand moved enough to put all the other fires in the area out as well.

“Rapture? No. can’t say I am.” What is a splicer? A sister? How strange. “I’m from New Jersey...”

New Jersey. She had memories of people who had been from there sitting in her mind. People who had gone to Rapture hoping for a better life and, perhaps briefly, had found one. Their dreams ending as most everyone's had. In pain, blood, and eventually, death.

"I've never been there," she replied, curious. "Are there many in New Jersey that can do what you do?"

That was interesting. At least she had heard of it, though that question was a bit weird. Actually, no, the person is wearing a old style deep sea suit, nothing is weird here.

“Ah, no. I don’t know anyone else who can... ah, do that.” Her nose twitched a moment and she slide her hands into her pockets, glancing off to where she had walked from earlier. “I’m a bit of a freak back home.” then again, Freaks had to stick together, like Abe said.

"You don't seem like a freak," Eleanor said, her stance becoming a little more awkward, knees bending inward while her arms sort of just hung there, unsure of what to do with them. "A lot of people in Rapture can do what you do. Not as well. I don't think I've seen anyone manipulate the fire after it's been released before... but they can still throw it."

[personal profile] youshouldberunning 2014-03-31 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That took her attention. People from this Rapture place can throw fire as well. As a matter of fact, three fireballs were thrown before this person jumped down in an assist. Her head tilted, looking this... woman? over a bit more. “You can do it too, right? I assumed the fireballs came from the... ah, suit.” her hand drifted out a bit to indicate the suit here. it was strange to see someone fight in something so old. As for control... she shrugged, flexing her hand a bit. “The control thing isn’t really that good. I’m still learning to focus it.” It was all in her mind. Telekinetic, but most people didn’t understand that.

Eleanor's head tilted to the side, very curious now. "No. It wasn't the suit," she replied. "I can control the fire as it's released from me but after that it's out of my hands. You are very powerful to have even as much control as you do. If you did not learn it in Rapture, does that mean it is natural to you?"

[personal profile] youshouldberunning 2014-03-31 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, so it was a learned thing. Interesting. Liz frowned though, side eyeing the area around here. She was better than she was just a few weeks ago, about showing who she was, but she didn’t like it any. She wished Red or Abe was here. “Ah, yeah. It’s a natural thing. Pyrokinetic, I guess.” She didn’t like fire starter, or pyro in general, but there wasn’t she could do about what it’s called. “I think I’m the only one who can do it from where I’m from.” A curious glance though. “You... learned to throw fire?”

[personal profile] utopiae 2014-04-01 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Was forced to," she admitted with a heavy sigh. It seemed safe enough to tell this woman. She seemed sympathetic and not like she had some ulterior motive. Not that Eleanor had a lot of personal experience with that, but she had the memories of so many people to look at, almost like a catalog, that she felt safe enough in her assessment of Liz.

"A lot of genetic augmentation was forced upon me. I think I would be more comfortable with it were it natural, but I've learned to accept what I have become. My father helped me with that," she continued after a moment. "I think it's very interesting that you can do it naturally. It sounds fascinating. And frightening. Mine, at least, came with lessons."
youshouldberunning: († - calm - †)

[personal profile] youshouldberunning 2014-04-02 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Forced to learn? The idea of that said a lot though. That would definitely make this person not... well, from normal Earthly places. Maybe? Either that or some cult had found something interesting.

Her fires were out, her eyes back to blue. Liz felt... tired but not worn out. Though she felt some form of interest in her rescuer. "Being forced to do anything like that is horrible. Even having this naturally is a burden." She found herself saying bitterly.

"Not..." she said a moment after, sighing at herself. "...that there's anything wrong with it." Then, looking to the mysterious scub girl, she frowned. "Thanks for the assist though."
