![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
Nami l One Piece
First she and her friends are all almost killed by that Kuma lookalike, then the Marines showed up, then the real Kuma appeared and sent several of the others away until it was her turn, and now she was just waking up in some place that she didn't at all recognize. The fact that she was feeling completely sore in every part of her body wasn't helping.
Despite how she felt right now, she had to move. She had to get back to Sabaody, back to her nakama. Without her, they couldn't navigate the ship. She had to be there to guide them. It was her duty as the Straw Hat's navigator.
So using her blue staff as support, she made her way through this strange town that she has landed in. She didn't care if anyone stared at her because of how dishelved she looked right now, she'd worry about it once she got back to the crew. Right now she just needed to get out of here.]

Masamune Date | Sengoku Basara
[It might be a haughty thing to say, but there's no denying the look of confidence on the young warlord's face as he stands at the prow of the ship. He unfolds his arms, a hungry look on his face even as the first volley of cannonballs come flying towards them.
Most of them miss the mark, the waters erupting with tall bursts as they hit.]
...all right then.
[He doesn't even blink as a cannonball flies directly for the ship with no intention of missing. In the next breath Masamune leaps- to intercept it??
Yeah. That's the plan.
Metal rings sharply as the One-Eyed Dragon rips his blades from their sheaths, swinging them forward.]
TORYaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
[Despite the explosion to follow (because why not explosions), a blue streak pierces through it, landing on the deck of the opposing ship because how dare you fire on him, man.
His single eye gleams as he settles into an at-ready stance with his blade raised and parallel to the ground.]
Date Masamune, charging in!

Matrix | Reboot
What a terrible time for a Game Cube to land.
This.. was a Game, right? Matrix looked around, from the inscription on the boulder on the fountain, to the town. All the while, he didn't look happy-- most of all he was concerned. If this was a Game.... where was everyone else? ... This couldn't be good. Why did this have to happen in the middle of a crisis in Mainframe?
Cautious, disgruntled, and convinced that Megabyte had to be here somewhere, Matrix wandered... hoping to get some answers.
He had to find pieces of a gem and then this Game was over... how was he going to find it? Well, seedy taverns have never steered him wrong. Especially in a pirate Game. So, in the tavern he goes, kicking open the door in his most intimidating nature, eying the patrons looking for a squealer as he moved to the bar counter.]

Switzerland (Basch Zwingli) | Hetalia
He casts a quick look around... and immediately decides his current armed stance is absolutely warranted. Because this is not his nice, warm living room and those less than trustworthy people walking by were most certainly not his citizens.
A rather fierce scowl settles into place as he slips his free hand into his pocket and pulls out his cell phone, verdant eyes sharp and alert as he scans the square once more, his pistol held ever ready.]
...No signal. Figures. What the hell have those idiots done now? And how'd they manage to get me involved?
[More importantly, where in this strange place was Liechtenstein?]

Varric Tethras | Dragon Age II
[Varric wasn't so crazy about the whole ocean thing, but taverns! Oh taverns and he were well acquainted. Taverns loved him. After all, drunks loved listening to fantastical stories!
As proved by the moderate crowd he had gathered around him at his corner table, with a nice tall drink in front of him and an audience's attention. It was like he'd never left Kirkwall.]
-- so there she was, The Champion of Kirkwall, surrounded on all sides by ogres! Big, hulking, drooling beasts with fists the size of boulders!
[(Hey that rhymed!) He would have loved to have put himself at her side in this story. After all, the phrase "back to back" was always a good one. However, if an ogre did show its ugly mug Varric didn't want to be everyone's first pick to go handle it. Best leave Hawke to that sort of thing.]
The Champion feared the worst. But, she had a few tricks up her sleeves yet. So she crossed her fingers and did the unthinkable!
[Just as he was about to give the great big climax to the battle, Varric realized he was out of ale. This clearly needed changing and - thinking that a barmaid had just passed by - Varric stretched his arm out with his mug in hand and wiggled in front of someone's face.
Your face, to be precise.
How rude]-- fill her up for me, would ya?
(ii)
[The ocean was awful. Literally the worst thing ever created and Varric was suffering every wave and splash. He was currently bent over the rail - or whatever it was called - heaving his guts and every other internal organ he currently possessed.
When all was finished, Varric hefted himself back onto his feet (he hated being so short sometimes) and fell against the rail in a pathetic, barfy dwarf heap.]
Have I mentioned dwarves are not particularly inclined to -- [wait, wait, he's not finished.] -- to seafaring? Because we're not.

Liz Sherman | Hellboy
And she shouldn’t be here. She should be at base, in Jersey, waiting around for the next paranormal incident, putting up with HB and talking with Abe. Not... here.
“Red... you better be here somewhere.” She mumbled to herself, walking along. Catch her somewhere in port, goth looking long haired chick with a cross at her neck, looking out of place for the town.
-----------------
(b); If you run into her about an hour after she got there, you’d see fire. A blue fire racing over her arms and head. She’s small, a petite woman, dark hair covered in fire, her hands out and glaring at the three guys before her. Two cringing back, and one laughing, saying ‘What are you, girly? We just wanted some fun.’ Which apparently wasn’t the right thing to say. Her fists flexed and fire swelled. She knew she had to control it or she’d really hurt someone.
“Leave me alone.” She growled, stepping forward, hands out. “You should be running...” which made two of the men back up more, one of them laughed and pulled a sword.
Why the hell did she end up in pirate world?
God damn she hated Ghosts and their tricks. She shouldn’t be here.
-----------------
(c); [She’s on your ship, part of your crew. Liz isn’t the best with people, so she’s been a bit standoffish and doesn’t know more then a person or two, but she’s a good girl.]
[At the moment she sat on deck, a warm spade radiating around her, a light snow falling everywhere on deck but on her. It melted and evaporated before it hit her. There was a small fire, off and on, in her hand, like she was practicing. Her eyes focused on that more than anything else.]

Alex Benedetto | Gangsta
[To say that Alex was lost and confused was an unfortunately accurate statement. Being out of place wasn't anything new for her, and neither was feeling like she was overwhelmed or unwanted. But never to this degree. As bad a city as it was, Alex was at least familiar with Ergastulum. She didn't have that much now.
She walked around, slowly. Not really knowing where to go or what to do.]
Um, hello? Do you... have a moment?
[May as well start from there.]
[A day at sea]
[Alex wasn't a fighter. She didn't have any amazing abilities or supernatural talents. And she wasn't particularly trained in any kind of weapon, either. Still, she wasn't about to let that stop her from contributing. If it wasn't through combat, then she could at least make herself useful on the ship.
Fortunately, she was at least able to manage doing chores on the ship.
Cleaning, cooking, washing dishes... And anything else that needed to be done.]
I wonder if... they'd let me prepare lunch some time.

Merlin | BBC Merlin
"Sorry but... I think there's been a bit of a mistake..."
First thing out of Merlin's mouth was, of course, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Which meant waylaying some poor sod and trying on a bit of a pitiful expression of his own. Not that it ever did him much good when it mattered, but sometimes he got lucky.
All he knew was that he'd just woken up after being run over (by a cart from the feel of his foot) and was so very much not in Camelot any more it wasn't even funny. Nor any other place he'd ever been to, the sea air kiiinda gave that away.
B.
Right back to work. Nothing new. Merlin rolled his eyes at the newish pale of soapy water, stretching a little before huffing out a breath and putting his back into the work his dear captain had assigned him. Seriously. Just as bad as Arthur and Gaius.
And yet he was relatively happy. The ship's quarters weren't the best, but seeing as he'd spent his life up until Camelot sleeping on the floor, he really couldn't complain.

Fenris | Dragon Age 2
[If the Maker exists, Fenris thinks on occasion, then He must surely have a sense of humor black enough to match His throne. Danarius was finally within reach, all those years of waiting and agonizing and he was finally close enough that Fenris could practically feel the man's still beating heart between the vice of his fingers. He would have torn the Hanged Man apart to reach him and was, in fact, in the process of doing just that when there was a spell and he lost sight of everything and then...
Then he's waking up somewhere that's not Kirkwall with words ringing in his head and his fists infuriatingly absent of anything resembling the heart of an Imperial Magister. He doesn't wait to try and comprehend it; logic is too slow in this situation. Instead, he scrambles unsteadily to his feet and all but charges for the closest thing he recognizes: the tavern. It doesn't matter that he knows this can't possibly be the city he was in just moments ago, rage insists that Danarius is still inside, reality be damned!
Except when he slams open the door, he isn't. And all Fenris is left with is a sinking feeling in his gut and a room full of angry glaring.]
2 - omg an island!
Blighted filthy ship... [Fenris grumbles as he takes a long, precious moment to stand in the beach sand, flexing his toes and digging them in. It's a miracle to feel anything under them that isn't wood or water and to actually have the ground stay in one place for once.
Not that he dislikes ships or sailing or being a pirate exactly--it's actually kind of exciting--but he does still have a lingering fondness for dry land. He uproots himself after a few deep breaths and starts heading inland with a cursory glance back over his shoulder to make sure he doesn't wander too far from the rest of the crew. Honestly, whatever else is on this little spec of land, he'll be happy with some fresh water. And maybe one of those coconuts...]

Snake | 999
Clover? Are you anywhere? *He listens for a moment but doesn't hear her voice. Great. He hears so many OTHER things except the one person who would help make sense of everything. Well, fine. He'll just have to figure this out himself. How to narrow down where he could be?*
Excuse me? *he raises his voice to the masses he can hear around him* This might sound strange but, no one is forced to wear watches here, are they?
*It might seem like an odd question to ask if he just took a look around. Except he can't do that.*

Zelda | Skyward Sword | lost at sea
She leaned her hand in the water and used her arms to stroke a current so she was going in the direction on the island. Zelda's arms grew tired before she made it even half way, resigning herself to needing to swim. She couldn't see anything in the water below her, which was kind of scary to think about to a degree. Zelda took some of the perishables in her small satchel, wrapping the small rope around her wrist and fell into the water without even thinking. It took her a few minutes of vigorous dog-paddling before she made it onto shore, tugging the small raft with her and releasing the satchel and raft safe from the high tide.
"What do I do now?" Zelda had to think of something, but the only thing she could think of was a fire. Thus, she went off along the island to look for some useable sticks.

Bolin | Avatar: the Legend of Korra
Jeez, you get knocked overboard in one tiny little... enormous, terrifying storm, and suddenly it's like you're never going to see a ship again once you hit clearer waters.
But you know, whatever, it's totally cool. Bolin can handle a minor setback like this. Like sure, it's pretty terrible. Sure, it's incredibly boring and none of the fish make good conversation. Sure, he's stuck clinging to driftwood until he can find a boulder or something to take a break on. Okay, maybe some ominous dorsal finned thing keeps butting him on the leg and taking off and coming back again, and he's pretty sure it's sizing him up to eat while it waits for its buddies to show up and he's freaking out and he misses his shoes, but. Uh. You know.
No, wait, Bolin really lost track of his chill there. He's too young and too beautiful to die like this. He has so much to live for.
Come catch him in a fishing net! Throw a rock at him! Be his partner in ocean-drifting and watch as he attempts to negotiate not being eaten even though he's actually just being investigated by a friendly dolphin! Look, the animals are weird here. Who can blame him. (He can't blame himself, that's what really matters.) Heck, feel free to even just straight-up rescue him. ]
[ LAND HO. ]
Oh! Guys! Island! Dead ahead! [ Or better put, hell yeah it's an island he's never seen before. Not that he's... seen a ton of new landlocked locations either. But you know what, that just makes it even better. It's new on top of new and there aren't vicious raiders or toothy monsters pouring out to consume the ship. That's a lot luckier than he was banking on, wow!
So, Bolin's the guy leaning over the side of the crow's nest trying to get a closer look at the shore like the happiest boy in all the sea. FUCKING ADVENTURE, GUYS. What do you mean, we've seen like a dozen or more islands in our time sailing together and the excitement should theoretically have worn off by now? Good sir and/or madam, he doesn't understand that sentiment. ]
Did I say "island"? Because that's definitely an island. [ AND A JOYOUS GASP. ] Oh man, I think I even see some big rocks!
[ His kingdom for some more earthbending material...! ]
[ WILDCARD.
Literally do whatever you want and I'll roll with it because hilarious pirate shenanigans and good times are abundant. A+, go team. ]

Midshipman [Jonathan] Hollom - Master & Commander: Far Side of the World
[It's late at night, and Jonathan Hollom is on watch. Everything is quiet; the sea is calm. There's nothing on the horizon in any direction. No fog, either.
He stands on the poop deck of the small vessel, leaning against the starboard rail. The dark water looks endless, reflecting the stars in the sky every few moments when it's quiet.
It looks inviting.
Like it would be so easy to do it again. Who would miss him? He'd probably be best to do it now. How else could be sure? If he stayed, they might cause trouble like on the Surprise.]
2)
Here you are. Bowl of stew.
[The proprieter of the inn has made it very clear that Hollom can't stay on his staff, but he's negotiated well enough with the man that he's earning his temporary room and board by working rather than paying.
Mostly because he doesn't have much to pay with anyway and, as Hollom pointed out, if he spent it on the room when he could work, it would be that much harder to leave when the time came.
So, he was put to work in the kitchen, cooking and serving the guests.
The stew is his own creation: lamb and vegetables in a thick broth.]

Seishin Muroi | Shiki
[His first question upon waking up here? Had been what, exactly, had become of the little shiki girl he'd been attempting to escape with. Next on his mind is how he's even alive. Immediately after that? Where, exactly, he even is....
...Hours later, he's discovered there's no hope for getting answers from the townsfolk.
The Jinrou's making a bit of a curious face as he looks up at the almost hauntingly beautiful fountain, arms crossed and tucked into his sleeves a bit. His eyes slowly slide down to the words etched on the boulder. With just a short pause, he's pulling out the journal and copying the words into a page in the very back.
...And, as expected, words are being written back at him, again. Unfortunately, none of which are helpful, so he doesn't bother replying. The priest has yet to make himself known on the...magical book- namely because of the things he's seen from a select doctor that he's attempting to avoid- at least for the time being, anyway.
No, he had resorted to simply writing a few questions and leaving it at that, upon his first discovery of said book. For the time being, he's being left with only the option of sitting and waiting for responses. A sigh escapes him as he turns away from the statue. There's a strange feeling swelling within his chest that he's beginning to struggle with ignoring.]
B) SHIP
[Weeks after waking up in this place, he's begun to get used to the idea of being part of a- ...crew. It's not something he ever could have expected. Or wished for. Fortunately, there are people he knows, here. One of which that has experience in dealing with the new...hunger he feels. And another he's known since childhood. That particular person, he'd expected to maybe...try and kill him. Thankfully, it seems that's the last thing on Toshio's mind. Even so, it doesn't seem the dead...stay dead, here. This world truly is strange...
Hands resting on the railing, Seishin closes his eyes and lets out a sigh. He still cannot help but to worry about Sunako. He can only hope she found safety. Of course, he's not a fool. He realizes the likelihood that she was found and killed. Still...]

Metallia | The Witch and the Hundred Knight
[She shouldn't even be surprised at this point. Just when something incredibly great happens to her, of course she'd have to be abducted by someone somewhere for some reason. She didn't happen to know who did this, why they did this, how they did this, or even where she was (aside from the name of the island; like THAT'S helpful), but rest assured once she DOES find out the answers to the above questions she'll be sure to do something about it. Probably force the idiot(s) to send her back by force.
Or just kill them and do it herself. Whatever.
That aside, currently Metallia is worrying about bigger issues. Namely how the hell can she be here without feeling sick if there's no swamp? She's scouted the whole island and hasn't found a single bit of swamp mud. Sure it's cool that here it seems like she can move around at will, but being without her swamp or her
friendsminions isn't exactly a fair trade. So naturally you can find the "Great" Swamp Witch grumbling rather loudly as she floats around town on her broom.]Tch, I can't believe this. There's not a single swamp on this island! And the book selection sucks a fat one. Exactly what special brand of idiot would want to live here in the first place?!
[B]
[Everyone has regrets. However, I think we can all agree that most of the people on the ship regret letting Metallia on board by a large margin. She's loud, cranky, and genuinely unpleasant. On the bright side she can pull her weight with the best of them despite being lazy thanks to magic.
However, now all those negative traits of hers have been enlarged quite a bit. Why?]
Alright, which one of you soon-to-be-dead assholes stole my broom?! C'mon! Fess up!
