See you during the application round!
♦ So you're new to this world and have just woken up in the Town Square. How do you react? What do you do?
♦ You're lost at sea. Maybe you got separated from your crew. Or perhaps you're on an abandoned island. You need help!
♦ "Pirates off the starboard bow!" It's an enemy ship! Attack!!
♦ You and your crew are hanging out on your ship. Just another day at sea!
♦ "LAND, HO!" Hey look, a new island! How about you go explore it? Tell us what you find!
Joshamee Gibbs | Pirates of the Caribbean
[Said as he looked bleary eyed around the town square. Unconsciously, he hugged his teddy bear closer to his chest as he squinted around town and then at the fountain.]

[A quiet young man -- or, at least, he looks younger than he is -- is at Gibb's side. Or at least near enough. He still has a very Navy bearing, and to say he looks skittish is probably very kind.]
no subject
Like the young man, he appears to be wearing a naval uniform of a sorts. Or at least the dirty, sleeveless coat worn more or less as a vest might suggest that.]
No need to stand on formalities with me lad. I've not heard of this place in me travels. [He reached down the front of his shirt then, grabbing for his neck flask and pulling it up with a mighty need for a drink to settle his mind and his thirst... only as usual, it seemed to be empty.]
no subject
[At least he knows this man's voice. Or it sounds similar to what he's used to.]
...You're the first Englishman I've found, too, sir.
no subject
That's surprising to hear. I though we were as common as fleas on a dog's back.
[He shifts his attention away from the other man to look around, noticing for the first time the words on the fountain.] Marry Mudder of god... Davy Jones' lair? It don't mean the Locker does it?

[ With authority in his voice and purpose in his steps, Jack quickly strides over to his First Mate. ]
no subject
Jack! It's good to see you.
[The teddy bear is totally forgotten, remaining tucked under one arm.]

But he couldn't be happy to see Gibbs. Oh no. If anything, he narrows his eyes. ]
As I thought. I hope your actions for ending up here were naught but your own, then.
[ Here not being here here, but more where he thinks here is. ]
no subject
Where is here? The last I recall I was aboard the Pearl and then I awoke to find meself here by this fountain.
[He nods to the fountain, noticing for the first time that there are words written on it. Screwing up his face, he squints at it trying to read them, but given his current hangover, the letter sort of swim around and he just gives up.]

When that answer finds you, I shall hope you will be willing to share that answer.

Begging your pardon miss but it's not right for me to get a hand up from likes of you.
no subject
Oh? And why might that be?
[She can't fathom it, really. Her own people often prayed to her for help.]
no subject
Well with you being a lady and all, it wouldn't look right, a grown man such as myself taking help from you.

[ Not really clear where this kid came from but he's standing next to the man, looking over at the same fountain. ]

Seeing as the lad was right, Gibbs leaned forwards more, squinting as he tried to make his bleary eyes focus on the words.]
It looks to be a poem of some kind. [he finally added half way through reading it. His face changed from one of casual pondering to one of outright fright once he reached the bottom of it.}
It can't be. He's dead!

[ he shrugs; dressed in travel-worn clothing, Joji looked more than bored with the people milling about. he had stopped nearby and hearing the words of the older man, decided to reply. the idea of world traveling had long ago lost it's appeal but like others from his former employer, it was a fact of life. at least this place did not show signs of any Shocker troopers trying to muscle in. ]
There will be a way back to your world. There always is.
no subject
My world? You mean to say I am not upon the good green Earth?
no subject
[ shrugging, Joji flexed his right hand, the augmented fingers cracking in protest. ]
The energy is off by a few degrees.
no subject
Other Earths don't surprise me, not when I've been to the world's end. I've a feeling this is not the usual place, seeing as at last recall I was sleeping aboard a ship and not here next to some dried up fountain.

HOW DID I MISS THIS
Well, beggars can't be choosers, and he has an itch to get home.
But the town is, as always, crowded with starry-eyed greenhorns and the shrill voices of too many annoying people crammed into too tight of a space and-
And there's Joshamee Gibbs, plain as day. Joshamee Gibbs, who for reasons unknown, never bothered speaking up when he asked after that lot the last time, though he's willing to suppose they might not have been there then.
But all the same, he makes his way to where Gibbs is hugging-
Is that a teddy bear.
That earns an eye roll, before he shakes his head, closing the distance between them.]
About time you climbed out from the pigsty, Gibbs. Only been looking for you lot since I first arrived, haven't I.
Sorry it took me a bit to respond!
He tucks the bear up under one arm, casually, aware that it isn't exactly pirate-like to be seen with one.]
I wouldn't know that as I've only just arrived it seems. I was on the Pearl the last I can recall.
Shh you're fine! o/
But he pauses at the mention of the Pearl. It's a minute thing, hardly telling, but there all the same.]
Gibbs, don't be ridiculous. You and I very well know we went over that waterfall last.
no subject
Were you meaning the waterfall that lead to the Locker?
[He asked hesitantly, squinting fiercely at Barbossa. The teddy bear was forgotten for the moment.]
