[ON YOUR SHIP, OKAY? OKAY.

He can cook unbelievably well, so maybe someone can twist his arm into find a way to convince him to be the ship's cook. He's incredibly strong (as in, can yank a bus stop sign from...a bus stop, strong), so they should make him do all the heavy-lifting he's good for manual labor.

This guy's going to try to make conversations with him unbearably painful to even attempt; but, really, he's secretly a very caring person. That is far from apparent, thanks to Shinjiro carrying himself in a way that makes it seem like he could headbutt the next person that annoys him.]

((The ship's cook! They need one of those. Kyouya is trying his best but it's still killing Kaoru's delicate taste buds and sensitivities.

So here is Kaoru's best attempt at recruiting.)) Every ship sucks, but our ship has me. So, y'know, it'd be the best choice.

[He'd been staring out at the ocean, deep in thought, when he heard the voice. Turning his head to give a bit of a disbelieving look, his tone carries a certain "you came to bother me with that?"] ...Huh?

[Not that he didn't hear the stranger's words. He heard them, loud and clear. But, uh.

Let's just say he isn't sold by the thing this guy apparently considers logic.]

((Are you serious. Kaoru raises an eyebrow and repeats himself, gesturing out at the sea.)) Every ship out there. All of them suck. Being here sucks.

But our ship sucks less. Because I'm on it. And also because we might have a Host Club.

[getspunched]

[Unfortunately, he is always serious.]

Host Club? [Stare.] The hell is that?

[More importantly, why should he even care? And why is it relevant to the whole 'getting back home' thing that everyone should obviously be focusing super hard on.]

Theoretically, it'll be a club where charming, dashing young men - ((here he gestures are himself)) - entertain charming, lovely young ladies. More practically, it's a means of getting money so that we can actually worry about finding these shards or whatever instead of struggling to survive.

[getspunched]

[He hears:

"Club of a bunch of guys, flirting with girls as means of taking their money."

Nope.]

So, basically, you plan to take money from a bunch of girls, so you don't have to do any actual work?

[He looks pretty unamused by this plan.]

My name is Roxas! Who are you?

[That's okay, you don't have to talk, Roxas can do all the talking for both of you.]

[This level of enthusiasm...is odd. Clearly, Roxas doesn't get out much, or something. Most people are wary/scared/etc. of him.

He'd wonder where the rest of the name is, but there's a strange mix of people in this place. He's already assuming the guy's not from Japan, based on the strange name.]

[Roxas isn't afraid of scary looking guys, he mostly hung out with them.]

That's a different name. What do you do? What sorts of things do you like?

[Wow, so he doesn't remember signing up for a game of Twenty Questions.]

...What? [SLOW DOWN, KID.]

I'm a student. [Pause.] ...Why do you need to know these things?

[So you were probably minding your own business, and then suddenly this kid just up and appears behind you, you could of sworn he wasn't there a second ago, but none of that matters really.]

I am in need of your assistance, Shinjiro Aragaki.

[Pharos smiles up at the teenager, staring at him with those all-knowing blue eyes of his.]

[Brb, staring at the sudden, random kid.

Okay, so.

First of all.]

Huh? ...How do you know my name?

[Were you listening in on the conversation with the Host Club guy, or something?]

Pharos is pleased with your reaction.

Hm? [Pharos tilts his head up at him, blinking.]

How?

[Smiles]

The End is Nigh Upon us Shinjirou-san, we shouldn't waste such precious little time on unimportant matters. Follow me! [And then he's lightly tugging him by his arm.]

[Okay, Shinjiro's pretty damn sure he's never seen this kid, before. When (or...how, for that matter) the hell did he sneak onto the ship?

...And what's with the creepy smile?]

What?

[WAIT. ANSWER HIS FUCKING QUESTION.

Sigh.]

Hold up.

[He's not moving anywhere until he's told where he's being led.]

First tell me where you're trying to take me.

*There is a dramatic crash!! from the kitchen, and a metal mixing bowl rolls its way out the door. If Shinjiro is nearby and checks it out, he might find a Selphie on the floor, covered in flour, the large tub lying nearby*

[Oh for the love of...

That doesn't sound good, at all. The brunette frowns pretty hard, upon hearing the sound--and the fact that it had come from the kitchen honestly gives him the slightest feeling of dread. The Persona-wielder lets out a sigh and makes his way through the doorway.

...And is immediately stopping to give the other teenager a bit of a look.

Wow, this is going to be hell cleaning up...]

...What the hell happened?

[Shinji speak for: are you okay? He does care to know this, in spite of the rough tone.

Because, it's not like he knows why she fell. He just knows she fell.]

*Selphie manages a cough, sending up a small cloud of flour as she slowly tries to sit up. When she does, she presses a hand to her forehead, and her now white hair. She's startled when she hears another voice - why is this cute guy staring at her while she's on the floor covered in flour? She scrambles to her feet, quickly trying to brush off the flour*

I'm making pancakes!

*Because duh, that's pretty obvious, right?*

[getspunched]

[Okay, well. Call him crazy, but that's not how he's ever made pancakes. Maybe he's doing it wrong...?

Bending over, he picks up the tub not far from his feet. Spinning it in his hands, he gives her just the slightest lifting of his eyebrow.]

...I see.

[He's not going to offer to help cook, since that's not exactly something he's comfortable doing. His cooking talent is supposed to be a secret, anyway. He holds the tub out towards her.]

You should be more careful.

[Translation: kitchen = sharp knives, hot things, etc. and you could get hurt.]

*Yup, he's definitely the one that's doing this wrong. Nothing to do with Selphie. Nope. She looks a little sheepish, though she's still laughing at her own predicament. Taking the tub from him, she carefully turns to put it on the table*

Well, that's the thing. I was being careful! It's just...someone decided to put the tub up too high!

*Still shaking off the flour, she points behind to the chair that she clearly fell from*

I mean, seriously. Flour is important, why keep it so high up, ya know?

Eff yeah, Shinji!

*Adol is only a passable cook himself, so he's appreciative of anyone who can cook for groups of people and make it taste good!*

So what's for dinner today, Shinjiro?

[At least he's creative--and, tends to do a different recipe each time. He's had a couple of people complain about it being fish, all the time. For the most part, though, everyone seems pretty content.

He's not actually sure how he landed the official job as chef; but, hey. It's better than some of the other jobs people have on the ship. Not that he'd ever complain about any of them, of course. They're all stuck in this shitty place, together; and, wasting time by whining isn't going to get them home any faster.

He's met this guy, before--enough to know his name is Adol. Naturally, he's still not going to be friendly with him. That's simply how Shinjiro is. So, his tone isn't exceptionally welcoming]

Glazed Salmon Fillets.

[He mutters as he hoists the rather large box onto his shoulder, ready to carry it back to the kitchen.]

*Adol wasn't sure how Shinji got to be the ship's cook either, only that it just happened over time. Adol's own job consisted of raising and lowering sails and doing basic gruntwork to keep the ship afloat and going where it needed to go. He'd had the good fortune to be taught years ago how to sail from a friend in Promarock.*

That sounds pretty good. Do you need any help? *Adol is generally helpful but there was some less than altruistic motives involved; the more people helped with food, the faster they'd get to eat it!*
